The Difference Portable Underwater Drones Can Make in Emergency Management Situations

Underwater drones/mini-ROVs can be valuable tools in emergency management. They offer a low-cost, rapid-to-deploy and easy-to-use means in situations where human divers or responders may be unable to access or navigate difficult underwater environments.The speaker will introduce new advancement of portable mini-ROVs and their applications in search & rescue operations, disaster response, environmental monitoring, hazard observation, damage inspections,flood management.

About Kelly Zhang, PhD

Dr. Zhang is the Vice President of CHASING-INNOVATION and holds a PhD from UMass Amherst. Prior to joining CHASING in 2020, she worked as a college teacher and teacher educator. Dr. Zhang''s passion for intelligent equipment in underwater exploration has made her an advocate for the popularization of underwater technology development and the expansion of global portable underwater drone markets. She has actively promoted the cause of underwater robots and marine technology at various events and competitions, earning numerous first prizes and major awards in national and international elite innovation and entrepreneurship competitions in China from 2020-2022. In addition, she organized and chaired a forum on the high-quality development of unmanned underwater systems and played a key role in the development and release of the Group Standard of Portable Underwater ROV in China.
