Evacuation Management During Initial Phase of Emerging Disaster

A demonstration of Zenehaven''s EVAC and AWARE evacuation management software applications on how these tools are used by Incident Command from the field during the initial stages of an emerging disaster. Also used by Emergency Operations Centers during extended operational periods and repopulation efforts. These software applications allow for a common operating picture across multiple agencies and jurisdictions.

Joe Grupalo retired from the Fire Service holding the rank of Battalion Chief with the City of El Cerrito. El Cerrito is located in Contra Costa Country, just north of Berkeley and Albany, which are located in Alameda Country. The biggest disaster threats in this region are wildfire (1991 Oakland Hills Tunnel Fire), earthquake (Hayward Fault) and HazMat incidents (3 refineries).
Joe became involved with Zonehaven in an effort to provide a better tool for field personnel to push information upstream from the field during the critical first minutes and hour of an emerging disaster incident.
