Richard Fimbel CEM
Richard Fimbel has over 25 years of experience in emergency management, critical infrastructure security, continuity of operations, transportation asset operations, management, and incident planning. Mr. Fimbel currently serves as the Director of Emergency Management for the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), where he oversees and leads Emergency Management and Continuity of Operations programs, serving over 9 million residents throughout 16 counties in South Florida.
Prior to working for the SFWMD, Mr. Fimbel worked in the private sector for two roadway management organizations, where he worked closely with multiple State DOTs to review and enhance regional and state evacuation plans and routes. During this time, Richard developed and led the first Emergency Management Department for this roadway management company.
