FIU Hurricane Research and the NHERI Wall of Wind
Erik will discuss the hurricane research at FIU’s Extreme Events Institute, including the Wall of Wind, one of the nation’s major “Experimental Facilities” under NSF’s Natural Hazards Engineering Research Infrastructure (NHERI) program. Planning has also begun on a new NSF future national full-scale wind-wave-surge testing facility capable of generating wind speeds of up to 200 mph.
